A new variant of the MG4 has been introduced. Called MG4-Ref11, it has been developed for the pulp and paper industry for continuous monitoring of refiners.
Refiner disc segments getting in contact with each other cause the segments to break. Spare segments are expensive and the margin of error in this application is very small. This requires measuring equipment to be extremely fast. The MG4-Ref11 has been adapted to these requirements and has a measuring cycle of approximately 0.4 seconds for shock pulse measurements.

80% of all hydraulic and lubrication breakdown is caused by contaminated oil!
Breakdowns are not just an annoyance and an inconvenience
Intertronics are market leaders in the provision of adhesives and related products to many industries and so were particularly interested in a recent aerospace application. Trials at product partner I&J Fisnar related to a proven method of automatically applying conformal coating to PCB areas surrounding contacts that may be sensitive to possible spray contamination. The trials used an I&J Fisnar Dispensing Robot complete with a brush applicator and suitable valve system.
Intertronics were pleased to note that trials for an in-flight PCB conformal coating application proved that applying the coating material by a robot-controlled precision brush, fed by an I&J Fisnar valve, improved quality, reduced setup time, gave repeatable results and saved $75,000 in systems costs.
Building on over 30 years experience designing and manufacturing industrial safety helmets, JSP are pleased to introduce the most feature-rich safety helmet designed yet. The MK 7 helmets have been designed with comfort, performance and style in mind and incorporate the most innovative features seen yet on a safety helmet.
The helmets come with three principle options as follows;
PEAK OPTION
- with standard peak for sun and wet weather protection or;
- short peak for working at heights or surveying;
VENTILATION OPTION
- in non-ventilated format giving insulation against the electrical test or;
- in ventilated format in the crown of the helmet to ensure maximum convection of heat away from the wearer and fresh cool air to ventilate.

The benefits of proper equipment maintenance and use of a high-quality heavy-duty diesel engine oil are evident at Miles Sand and Gravel, a sand and gravel supplier in Auburn, Washington. The company's 18 quarries span across the state, meeting the construction industry's daily sand, gravel and concrete needs.
At the Beginning
In business since 1946, the sand and gravel supplier has been passed down through two generations, growing into one of the largest sand and gravel suppliers in Washington. Today, it operates more than 300 pieces of heavy-duty on- and off-road equipment such as loaders, dredgers, excavators and more. The company operates various gravel pits and concrete plants between Washington and Canada.
As the sand and gravel's shop foreman for eight years, Chuck Kallinen manages equipment maintenance, routine fleet inspections and oversees the quarry's team of 19 mechanics. Kallinen has worked for the company for 15 years, managing the fleet amidst the quarry's harsh terrain. A rough operating environment calls for stringent maintenance standards and, as the sand and gravel supplier expands, service bays require additional lube shops, oil tanks and equipment in order to properly maintain a functioning fleet.
The Disability Discrimination Act has prompted Anglo Building Products to extend its range of safety products in offering help to businesses to improve safer access to their premises.
