Filters to protect ‘people, process, product and planet’ to feature at ChemUK 2022

Innovative filtration solutions to aid critical processes across the chemicals industry are set to feature at the forthcoming ChemUK 2022 expo.

Experts from one of Europe’s leading filter makers Amazon Filters will explain how its filters, housings and worldwide capabilities protect ‘people, process, product and planet’.

Safety, reliability and sustainability are among the key messages for the show’s audience of chemical plant operators, supply chain manufacturers and user industries.

Amazon Filters’ Head of UK Sales Lisa Astbury, who will be on the exhibition stand at the two-day event, said: “ChemUK is an ideal opportunity for us to meet industry players face to face and show how our portfolio of filter cartridges and housings can support their many critical applications including API production.

“On the health and safety side, we protect people because our filters are housed in secure assemblies - such as our stainless steel 316 and Alloy 22 assemblies - to reduce operator exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials.

“We offer isolator products for potent compounds and safe change systems specifically made with operator protection in mind.

“Ergonomic housings design, including inclined housings, also supports ease of operation and operator safety.

“We protect your process through robust design and manufacture. When it comes to critical process components, our extensive, ongoing investment programme in ‘quick and able’ production capabilities gives you peace of mind about continuity of supply.

“It is all about delivering high-quality, cost-effective, reliable and accredited filtration products backed by fast and efficient technical support and a swift turnaround of orders.

“We offer many examples of innovative design such as our unique ClearView single cartridge housing with its clear bowl section for viewing the condition of the filter element during your process.

“And we support full chemical compatibility for a wide range of fluoropolymer coatings.

“We protect your product by ensuring absolute consistency throughout the various stages of chemical manufacture, validating product performance through full quality assurance approvals.

“We help you with membrane and depth filtration, bioburden removal, sterilisation, compound decolourisation and avoiding the risk of contamination.

“Crucially, whether you are looking at filters for base or synthesised chemicals production, we help you to ensure conformance and compliance with all relevant safety legislation and regulation.”

“For example, our 72C and 76C series housings conform to the latest ASME BPE standard and its criteria for hygienic design, materials construction and fabrication, all essential elements of API production.

“And we protect the planet because we are an environmentally friendly supplier and we provide sustainable alternatives to disposable plastic capsules.”

Among the filter ranges set to be featured at ChemUK is VisClear, specifically designed for the sustainable manufacture of viscous solutions in chemicals and coatings.

It is securely enclosed and isolated inside SupaClean, a sealed-bag filter system ideal for corrosive resistant materials, eliminating contamination risks and protecting other components of kit.

Lisa added: “We support such a wide range of chemical industry applications from maintaining the quality of ethanol filtration in cosmetics to removing particulate contaminants in crude or raw bulk starter chemicals such as resins and lacquers.

“We help in pharmaceuticals manufacture by purifying speciality chemicals used for API production, for example when making sterile products, liquid creams and ointments.

“And we have customers in print services who use our filters for classifying pigmented inks used on state-of-the-art printheads.”

ChemUK takes place at the NEC Birmingham on 11-12 May 2022 and is split into a chemical industries supply chain show and a chemical, process and plant engineering show. Amazon Filters is exhibiting at both.
