Machinery Functional Safety Certification Training Course

TÜV SÜD Product Service, formerly Laidler Associates, has announced the 2013 dates for its UK Functional Safety Certification Programme (FSCP) for machinery.

As one of the global leaders in testing and certification, TÜV SÜD is well placed to certify the competence of personnel through audited training schemes. It first developed a Functional Safety Certification Programme (FSCP) in 1999, since when over 1000 professionals in the field of functional safety have been certified by TÜV SÜD. While the original certification programme was meant for professionals in the process industry, functional safety is now such a widespread subject and applied in so many different industries that an expansion of the programme has been undertaken.

Since the EN 954-1 standard was superseded at the end of 2011, functional safety has become ever more important in the field of machinery safety so TÜV SÜD Product Service is launching a new Certified Functional Safety for Machinery course within the UK.

This new course lasts for four days, with three days of teaching and one day of examinations. Topics covered include:

  • Hazard and risk analysis
  • Safety concepts
  • Functional safety management

Dates and locations for 2013 are as follows:

  • 12 February 2013 – Billingham, Cleveland
  • 30 April 2013 – Fareham, Hampshire
  • 2 July 2013 – Billingham, Cleveland
  • 3 September 2013 – Fareham, Hampshire

Delegates who successfully pass the exam (75 per cent pass rate) will be listed on the TÜV SÜD website and receive an official TÜV SÜD certificate confirming their status as a Functional Safety Professional.
