Following on from its successful launch last year, Arco is bringing the latest version of the Sensear Smart Muff Range to its customers. The Sensear IS has been developed in close collaboration with some of the world’s leading oil and gas companies in order to meet the demands of working in an intrinsically safe environment.
Certified in accordance to the ATEX 94/9/EC directive, the Sensear IS Smart Muff features a rugged design for heavy duty and general use, delivering a total high noise communication solution in hazardous environments where potentially explosive mixtures of gases may exist. The IS Smart Muff is simple to use and extremely comfortable. It delivers face to face, two-way radio compatibility, Bluetooth mobile phone and short range (50mtrs) communication without the need to remove hearing protection, ensuring that the wearer remains protected and productive.
By suppressing rather than eliminating all background noise, the Sensear technology enables the user to remain aware of his or her working environment and continue to communicate effectively whilst remaining protected. Bad working practice, such as removing ear protection for just 5 minutes every hour, can result in hearing damage. In Britain some 170,000 people suffer deafness, tinnitus or other ear conditions as a result of exposure to harmful levels of noise at work. As most traditional hearing protection devices are designed to block out all sound, useful signals such as voices may not be heard which encourages users to remove the protection and expose themselves to potentially damaging noise levels. Noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) caused at work is preventable but hearing damage is permanent.
